Despite the large numbers of sales from last year, there are still a lot of sellers who did not opt to sell their house with the many who definitely made great deals the past year.
YouGov Survey recently asked potential sellers their reasons why they did not sell last year despite the high demand and these are the top three reasons why.
34% said “Life is too uncertain.”
Thirty four percent said that life is just too uncertain, which includes not just the financial stability of the economy but also involves changes in careers, status, and others.
31% said it’s because of the financial uncertainty
Thirty one percent said that it’s the financial uncertainty, expressing that they don’t know what’s going to happen next to the economy and their present jobs so they decided to hold off selling last year.
25% said it’s COVID health concerns
Twenty-five percent had concerns about COVID, especially with the absence of the vaccine last year, sellers are hesitant to bring people into their homes. Most of these sellers would be or have family members who are more vulnerable to COVID, like elders and those with respiratory illnesses.
